New Winner!

Well, I never heard from Addy (the winner drawn for the vintage sheet fat quarters). And since I have no way of contacting her, I am drawing a new winner!

The new winner is comment #226 - Paper Tiger who said "Oh, those squares look to me like a quilt..."

Congratulations! I've sent you an email and will get them mailed to you as soon as I get an address from you!

My newest work in progress.......

More fabric love!!

I got a couple bundle deals from marie madeline studio. This fabric is fabulous! Random loveliness. The first bundle was their pink, orange, and yellow bundle - one yard of each.

The second bundle is nine yards of bright dots and stripes!

This is another purchase I made from fabric.com. It's two yards of Anna Maria Horner's Drawing Room. I have great plans for this - but it's a surprise what it will turn into....so I can't say more.

Giveaway Winners!!!

I can't believe the overwhelming response to my participation in the Sew, Mama, Sew giveaway day!! I mean, 263 comments!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all of you who stopped by and entered. I had a lot of fun reading all your comments!

I am happy to be participating in this year's Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day!! Up for grabs are twelve vintage sheet fat quarters!

Please leave a comment telling me what you'd like to make with these and I'll pick a winner using random.org on Friday. Only U.S. participants this time, thanks!

Reorganized! (And a Giveaway!)

I made a trip to Walmart Saturday and decided to pick up a few containers to organize my fabric better. I only have a small area to store my fabric and so I need to make the most of it. The new containers make the area look so much neater and definitely more organized! Here is the left side of the closet shelf (my fabric storage area) before:

And after:

The right side of the closet shelf before:

And after:

This is the only fabric in my stash I decided to part with. If you want it for any reason, let me know what for. I'll pick a winner in a week!

There are random amounts of each fabric. I think each is at least a fat quarter. The tan leaf one is a little over a yard.

Old stuff.....

My son took this picture. I had to try on my old high school baggy jeans. I was quite surprised they still fit. Not the most flattering picture, but then, I don't think many are. =)

Shopping Deals Today

I ventured back into the couponing world today after taking about a month break. I'm glad I did, because I really did well at the stores I went to! Here is my take:

CVS and Walgreen's items. Total spent out of pocket - $14. Remaining extra credit bucks after leaving - $12.99. Net total spent - $1.01!!!

Publix items. Total spent out of pocket - $32. Total saved - $98!!!

Vintage Sheet LOVE!!!!

A little faded, but still nice coloring on the pillowcase.

And the original, more vivid colors on the sheet itself.

I LOVE this sheet and can't wait to figure out what to use it with!

My Son.....

Who doesn't take naps anymore.....

fell asleep like this - with his fingers under the door!

Sewing Day!

I got to sew today! (And yes, that is excitement since it doesn't happen all the time.) I worked on my May blocks for The Vintage Sheet Quilting Bee and Bee Improvisational. They were both fun to make, but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed making the trees!! I think the improvisational thing is great for me! (Well, we'll see how the next months go!) I'm just waiting on my fabric for Bee Addicted 2 and then I can work on that block as well. Then hopefully back to my quilt soon!
My plus sign blocks for The Vintage Sheet Bee:

My trial tree - this one I'm keeping since I didn't use her fabrics:

And the real tree blocks for Bee Improvisational (I'm hoping to make another one or two as well):

New (to us) Train Set!

My son has been in love with trains since he first saw one. We used to have a train table, but it took up so much room in our little house, that I got rid of it. He's been missing having one and enjoying playing with the one at his Mamaw's house, so I decided to get him his own. I actually ordered one already for him, but when I was out garage sale-ing the other day, I found this set. And it has a roundhouse!!! (Which is the big item he loves to have!). So I couldn't pass it up. He's been playing with it constantly since then!

Oh, and sorry if my pictures are a little blurry. I don't know what's wrong with my camera, but it will no longer focus properly (at least not all the time).
