I love UPS!

That is when they bring me stuff! Today I got my beautiful fabric. One day soon I'll take the ribbon off and look at it closer. But I love it all bundled up and wrapped so pretty!

More Wonky Stars!

Yesterday and today I was able to sew six wonky stars! That puts me up fourteen total. Only eleven more to go. These are so fun and easy to make! I can't wait to get the rest finished.

Make Life

I just ordered the fat quarter bundle of Make Life by Sweetwater for Moda fabrics! I am so excited! I've been looking at this fabric over and over again and I wanted to get it so bad. Finally, I got my check from selling at the consignment sale and used some of that to buy it. Thankfully I remembered to go through ebates.com to get cash back and also got a coupon code for 30% off! I can't wait for it to come in the mail!

A Giveaway!!!

Go check out Sew Girly and her 1st giveaway! She has a really neat blog and is part of the Vintage Sheet Quilting Bee I'm a part of!

Tickets for Toy Story 3

I went out and got the great deal on Toy Story and Toy Story 2 (the Blu-Ray & DVD combo packs). In fact, it was such a good deal, I did it twice. So currently I own three copies of each movie! A regular DVD of each, and two Blu-Ray copies of each! I plan on selling the regular DVDs and the extra copies of the Blu-Ray. I know it all sounds crazy, but I got four movie tickets as part of this deal and so we are all going to go see Toy Story 3 when it comes out. These movies also had the official trailer (which I hadn't seen before now). It is hilarious! I can't wait to go see this one!

My crazy son...

My son did NOT want to take a nap. And some days, it is fine if he doesn't. But today, I could tell he was tired (there's a certain look in his eyes that just gives it away). So after a couple hours laying in his bed talking and kicking and not going to sleep, I went back in there and told him he had to be quite or he'd get in trouble. About ten minutes later I went and checked on him. This is how I found him.....asleep!

Five more wonky stars!

I had a chance to sew this afternoon, so I made some more wonky stars for my wonky star I-Spy quilt. Check them out:

Coupon papers everywhere!

When I cut out my coupons to file away, I normally throw all the scraps of paper on the floor. This is normally fine as my kids are normally sleeping when I do this. But this time around, the baby woke up and wanted to play on the floor. So she got right into the mess and had some fun herself (at least until I had to pick it all up and throw it away because she kept trying to eat it!)

Guess how I found my baby....

I'm still not sure how she got in the box. My son said she crawled in. But if the box was upright like that, she couldn't have. Maybe she crawled in and then he turned it upright. Who knows. Either way, I thought it was funny!

Some new goals...

I'm setting some new goals for myself to implement over the next few weeks. My original blog starting goals have kinda gone by the wayside....I haven't really found more healthy meal options for my husband and I to eat, I haven't started potty training my daughter, and I haven't worked with my oldest two on learning how to read. I am using more coupons and trying to save money on groceries (aside from a coupon break the last couple weeks) and I am sewing (and greatly enjoying that one!). I've also made it my goal that I will not sew on any given day until I have read my Bible. I am very much one to get started on something and keep going, forgetting all else that needs to be done. Because of that, I didn't want to skip out on the most important part of my day - spending time alone in God's' word. Nothing else I do can compare to the richness of digging deeper and learning all that I can about my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! That said, there are still some personal goals I want to work toward as well. My husband and I recently re-joined the gym near our house. I thoroughly enjoy exercising and am hoping it will do me some good (as in losing some weight!). I've got remnants of three pregnancies hanging around my midsection and am hoping it is not too late to get rid of that! I also have decided to go on a dairy free diet. I've toyed around with the idea, but never really gone through with it because of my love for cheese. But with my skin staying broken out all the time, I think I really should try it. Also, since I really want to lose some weight, and have an insane sweet tooth, the dairy free diet should help me stay away from most sweets. I don't have much self control to stay away from them otherwise. But if I know it might help clear up my skin....hopefully that is more motivation! I'll see how things go and hopefully all this will be doable!

My great trip to Goodwill!

I had a great trip to Goodwill today! I called my mom early this morning and she was out at a Goodwill I don't normally go to. I asked her to check out the sheets and see if there was an good vintage ones, and she found so many I decided to head up there myself. I went there and found a dozen or more vintage sheets!! I only got seven (ONLY!), but was very pleased with the ones I found. I stopped at the Goodwill on the way back to my house and found two more.

Teething Bling!

Look what I got today in the mail! I just ordered it Tuesday so I was a little excited it already came. My baby girl already likes the necklace.

I-Spy wonky stars!

I started sewing my wonky stars for my I-Spy wonky star quilt. Here is the picture I found that inspired this quilt. I made three stars today and am very happy with the results! I can't wait to make the others!

Sneak Peak!

Here is my I-Spy quilt squares. I pulled out my favorites and will start working on it as soon as I have a chance!

Vintage Quilt

A while ago, my sister gave me a quilt that she was getting rid of. I'm not sure where she originally got it, but I really liked it and took it off her hands. She came over the other day and saw the quilt on my couch (where it stays as our movie watching blanket) and wondered why she got rid of it. I was told to take pictures and post them, so I am. Here is the front, back, and a detail of a couple strips I really like.

Fabulous Finds at Goodwill!

I had a great trip to Goodwill today! I went to a newer store that opened up a little ways from my house, and found a bunch of neat things. In addition to a couple outfits for my baby girl and a few books, I found five different vintage sheets! This will come in handy for the Vintage Sheet Quilting Bee I signed up for as I didn't have a large stash to begin with.

I also got a couple sheets that I thought would be perfect for accents or backing:

When I got home from the store, I also found my bag of scraps I ordered from Marie Madeline Studio. I was extremely excited about this especially after I opened it to look through it all. There are scraps from Amy Butler, Jennifer Paganelli, and Moda....just to name a few!!!! These pictures don't at all do this justice, but I was in a hurry and just took a quick shot of the front and back of the bag before I even opened it (and this is a two gallon bag!).

Pretty dress for my big girl!

I've been admiring this dress at Walmart the last few times I've gone. They had her size only one time and I didn't think about getting it for her then because I'm normally too cheap to spend so much (HAA! a whole $16.50 for it!) on one dress. But I just loved it and called my husband right before I checked out to make sure I wasn't being crazy spending so much on one dress. Of course he said go ahead and of course I should get it (and that I didn't have to call to ask). But anyway, here is the lovely little dress:

And a close up of the design:

I can't wait to see it on my little girl!

My silly boy...

I had to laugh after trying to take my son's picture the other day. He must have gotten this silly face thing from my sister who also likes to make funny faces at camera's if they take too long! =) The last one is the best...and just cracks me up!

Finished Block O' Strings!

I finished the March block for our Vintage Sheet Bee today! I finished up the other two squares I had to do and then redid the one I didn't like from yesterday. I was quite pleased with the finished block and hope Rachel is too!

One block for the Vintage Bee

Here is a block I made for the Vintage Sheet Bee. I don't like one strip in it and so I am planning on remaking the block. Can you tell which one I don't like? (Sorry the picture isn't the best.)

My newest toy!!

Well, since I have so much trouble adding a picture from the web, I just won't have one to put with this post (since I'm too lazy to walk in the kitchen and take a picture right now!).....but I got a Vita-Mix!!!!!! My husband and I have been talking about it since our cheap older model kicked the bucket a few weeks ago. Actually we've been talking about it since we filed our taxes at the beginning of February. So we heard that Costco was doing a demo again and we went up and bought one. After trying Lime Ice cream and watching my picky kids devour "ice cream" with spinach in it, we both agreed it was well worth our money. We can't wait to use and hopefully get us on a path to eating better!

Vintage Bee Block in progress....

I got a chance to do a little sewing today and decided to work on the block for the Vintage Sheet Bee. I made two of the four blocks needed to make THE one bigger block, but I decided I didn't like one part of one of them, so I am going to redo it tomorrow. I also hope to make the other two and finish it up. I quite like strings blocks and will probably do something like that with some of my other fabric later on. (Pictures to come!)

My baby girl and her first real experience outside!

My baby girl got to go outside in the warm weather yesterday and today. She really enjoyed getting in the toy car and being driven around by her big sister. She also had a good time in the swing at the park!

New fabric and I-Spy Squares

One of my favorite fabric shops recently did a super clearance sale. While I was a little late to get the things I really wanted. I was still able to get some very pretty fabric at a very reasonable price! I am excited to be able to find something wonderful to make with this stuff!

I've also been going through my I-Spy squares and trying to figure out what to do with them. I found this picture on flickr and decided that I wanted to do that with my favorite squares. I pulled out 25 squares out of my 200 to use to make this quilt. The rest of the squares (minus the ones I just didn't like at all) are going to be made into a more normal I-Spy quilt. Here are the remaining squares (I didn't take a picture of my favorites yet - maybe I'll post that tomorrow!):
